I didn't want to do it... I really didn't. I didn't want to become a blogger, but I had no choice. It was either this, or let my friend Tania be a cheater and get a head start on her NaNoWriMo novel by letting her use a system of magic she had previously created. So, in return for creating a blog, she had to start completely from scratch (which, btw, is the point of NaNoWriMo anyhow, cheater).
For those of you who don't know what NaNoWriMo is, it stands for NAtional NOvel WRIting MOnth (see how I pointed out the acronym by capitalizing the letters, clever huh?). The goal is to write a 50,000 word novel (which is the minimum official word length to classify a story as a novel) over the course of one month, that being November. Quality, does not matter. Coherence, does not matter. 50,000 words does matter. If you'd like to check it out, which I would highly suggest, because writing is awesome, go to www.nanowrimo.org (or click the light blue text).
I will be spending the rest of my October gearing up for NaNoWriMo, trying to finish my website, calling Tania a cheater, because she insists on using a character she thought up in elementary school, and trying to find the most expensive place to eat. Tania and I have our own little competition going: whoever has the lowest word count on midnight of November 30, buys the other dinner (and this parenthetical is because I haven't yet used one in this paragraph)
Edit: I have been informed that the above mentioned character was created a few weeks ago. I maintain that she is still a cheater.
Cheater.
